Alma de Piedra
Cuna de Piedra is a Mexican bean-to-bar chocolate company with which we have been involved since the beginning (2019), and we have been accompanying them in their development and extension of their product portfolio. On this occasion, Cuna de Piedra ventures into the world of spirits and we call this first product “Alma de Piedra” (Soul of Stone).

Alma de Piedra is a “wine” that comes from distilling the fermentation of the musts and pulque that come from Magueyes Cenizos y Verdes from Laguna de Sanchez (northeastern Mexico), to explain it better, we could say that it is a kind of mezcal.
We designed the bottle in a seemingly endless cycle of trial and error trying to collaborate with certain suppliers that made the task complicated. We have to say that this process happened during Covid, so in their favor, it was a complicated time for everyone… We finally managed to find a supplier in Jalisco who was able to create the smoked effect on the glass that we were seeking. Being a handmade process, the bottles are not completely even or identical to each other, which didn’t make our screen printing supplier very happy 😅 but he did a great job.
For us the tone of the bottle was non-negotiable, it represents the mysticism behind the name, behind the agave distillates and the traditions of most Mexican villages. We wondered what the soul of a stone is like? And we could only imagine like this, smoked, translucent, breathtaking.
