We met Eduardo Barrita through a contest we launched together with Volar en Ve for pro-bono projects. We selected his project because it met all our criteria, but meeting Eduardo was a surprise. Our working relationship has been kept alive by devising new projects in which we can collaborate, but also a very beautiful friendship has been born for which we are grateful.
“Design is made for everyone, and we all have the ability to do it, to build it, and to be part of it. I understand then that although there is a lot of work to create a social design, an inclusive design, it requires alliances to strengthen this idea, and above all, perseverance.”
Eduardo Barrita
Zimatlán de Álvarez is located in the central valleys region of Oaxaca. Eduardo grew up among mountains and hills, trees and a cool breeze. He also grew up among the beauty of Oaxaca: vibrant colors, designs and expressions that are part of a history and tradition.
“My life has been a canvas, I have painted many things. But I have also had the opportunity to apply a layer of white, where I rewrite my life. White is the absence of color, black is all the colors mixed, so I have lived through a rainbow.”
Eduardo Barrita
During his college career, Eduardo took and maximized every opportunity that came his way. From his trajectory in ENACTUS first as a member and then as president. To his internship at the University of Arizona.
Upon returning from Arizona, Eduardo put his personal project on hold and decided to focus on starting to generate income. He lived and worked in Mexico City. After a while, Eduardo began to reflect: “What is a home?”, for him, it means to surround himself with good people, beyond material things, because it doesn’t matter if you have it, if you don’t have someone to share it with.
It is then that Eduardo decides to return to Zimatlán.
In Zimatlán he understood the great need that existed to create a space where anyone interested in art and design, had the opportunity to explore their skills, without seeing it as a luxury or something far from their reality.
Eduardo believes in the power of design as a tool for social transformation, self-knowledge, exploration of the community and its environment to build a new reality and a better place for everyone. Since 2018 he founded Hacer Común, a design and social impact project in his community.
We developed their Branding, based on a Brand Strategy, as well as collateral design. We also crated a tagline, that in English means: Time sensitive objects.
